Lac de Cap de Long
Especially on a cloudy and gray day like today, I like to let my thoughts slide back to this wonderfully blue shimmering lake in the Pyrenees: Lac de Cap de Long.
It is hidden in the French Pyrenees on a dead end road between Aragnouet and Tramezaigues. Places whose name I can't even pronounce. The cul-de-sac winds a good ten kilometers into a narrow valley and you first reach Lac d'Orèdon, which is connected by two rivers to the Lac de Cap de Long, which lies behind and higher.
From Lac dOrédon, a small road meanders on the southern side of the valley to an altitude of 2161m, where you reach the dam of Lac de Cap de Long. You have a wonderful view of the valley and the two lakes.
